Hi there and welcome to my useless wiki. I'm prolly not gonna be updating this a lot, but I'll update it with small tidbits from time to time. This site consists of software from MediaWiki and is a Wiki (if you didn't understand by now). As far as I can see, this is really something... it makes it possible to do all sorts of wonderful stuff and all this in your browser of choice. I'm all into OpenSource software such as linux and, of course, Firefox and Thunderbird. I've just created a small ImageGallery just to test the function, and it really works :) Here is a little info About Me. I'm on a quest to get myself a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX. Can you help me? Besøk min norske side. Kan du hjelpe meg med en jobb? May 25th is the official TowelDay in the memory of Douglas Adams. I'm sorry I missed it this year. I'll join in next year :-) Mind & Spirit. Et forum for spirituelle i Norge. My Very Own Information By-wayThursday January 24, 2008What a ride. My server has been down since November 17th due to a Power Supply Unit failure and I received the new one yesterday. Damn I've missed having the server up and running and I'm really glad it's back where it belongs, on the Internet. Last summer I took a chance and got my driverslicence for motorcycles and now I'm gonna get me one :-)

Sunday May 13, 2007It has been a wonderful spring for me this year. I must admit that I've never had a better time, with both me and the world around me. It's been a true joy. Right after easter I quit my job and I've been without a job since, but the decision alone to leave my job made my 100% better, so it paid off in so many ways. Just a few days after I went to an interview and it landed me a new job. I'm starting tomorrow and I'm really excited about it. It's been a while since I was in a computer related job, but on the other side, I'm quite comfortable with my abilities and knowledge. Exciting times are ahead and I greet them with joy. I'll update later when I feel like it.
What happened on this day around the world. Saturday March 31, 2007I've this overwhelming feeling of restistance in my heart when I think about going back to work. I don't enjoy it anymore and I'm seriously considering quitting. The only thing stopping me now is the fact that we need the money to support our daily business of the household and I can't go for long without a job. I've applied for quite a few jobs lately and the market is really looking up nowadays, so I'm very hopeful I'll get a new job RSN. I was supposed to go to an interview last thursday, but a vomitingsession put a stopper for that. Had to call the man and tell him I was ill and had to postpone the interview. I'm gonna call him on Monday and we'll take it from there. Oh well... It's time for me to clean the house a little before wifey gets home from work Tataaaaaaa for now! What happened on this day around the world. Monday March 26, 2007I've had my ups and downs lately. One down was the fact that I didn't get the job of my dreams. A pure Linux job, but since I don't really have any formal education I can use to my advantage, I lost to a better suited person and that's only fair. The show must go on and I've now taken new steps to create a brighter future for my family and for myself. One up is the fact that I'm now trying to get some education. I've applied at the University in Oslo and other schools to get a Bachelor degree in Computer Science. I've also applied for schooling in economy and IT-management at a business school in Oslo. It feels good knowing that I've atleast tried, but I've a feeling that other people will get the places in school before me due to the lack of education I have. Thanks to my cousine, Sigg3, my server now has a brand new PSU (Power Supply Unit). I thought it was the reason for my server dying every so often, but I now believe it may be that the CPU isn't getting enough power to run at high loads and I'll look into it when time comes. For now it's just a hazzle and I don't want to do it. Simple as that. Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right - Henry Ford
What wonderful words. I live by them now and I always think that I can. I've been negative for too long and it's time for me to look up, look forward with a smile on my face and love what I am. After I applied for that Linux job I wanted to brush up on some of my skills and decided to begin using Linux more often. This resulted in a search for a good desktop instead of my installation of OpenSuSE I had. I tried a few distribution before landing a cool desktop called Sabayon Linux, now at version 3.3, and what I found so cool was that it uses Beryl as part of the desktop. Beryl is eye-candy for the desktop and it looks good, works well and has even greater potential. Technorati tags: What happened on this day around the world. Tuesday February 20, 2007I'm running around the net and when I do, I sometimes stumble upon something totally useless but fun. Like SpeedTest. Here is the result of my Speedtest. What happened on this day around the world. Sunday January 7, 2007Hey. It's a new year. New opportunities and new hope. The world didn't end in 2006 as nobody really predicted, but it could've. It can at any time, but let's not be pessimistic here I've found a new site to promote my music and I could use YOUR help to get me up the charts. Log on to RateMyBand and give my song your vote. I really don't care what score you give me, as long as you give me a score. I'm very proud of my music and I'm really hoping to reach a few people with my music. I'm dreaming of becoming a singer in a band one day and when I do, I know we'll go far. I know what music should sound like and I hope to find musicians with the same tastes, hopes and ambition as I sometimes have. I may not be the best looking bloke on the block, but I know what I have and I really want to share it with the world. I'm coming, so beware. Lock up your daughters, lock up your wives, the man is back in town. (Just a small quote from AC/DC). I've also surfed around MySpace in search for good music and I think I've found a few. Check out my profile at MySpace, add me as your friend if you're a MySpacer and drop me a note. Goodie! So, what's up for this new year. I've many hopes, many dreams and many thoughts and I'm hoping to realize at least a few of them before years end. I was gonna say I miss summer, but why should I when there's almost no fucking snow and no fucking winter anyway? We were really lucky to have a sort of white x-mas. It wasn't really snow, it was just white and I loved it. Ugly Betty. What can I say? I loved the first episode that aired the other day here in Norway. There is a tendency with new shows that the first few episodes are really good, then the quality diminishes as time goes on. We'll se what happens with Ugly Betty. Technorati Tags: What happened on this day around the world. Sunday December 31, 2006Yeah, it's the end of the year and it's been a good ride for me. I've loved this year since the end of April when I found the start of my spiritual journey. I've found a better inner peace, I've found new frieds all around the world, ranging from Australia, the US, Germany, Spain and here in Norway. I've had a lot of questions and a lot of them has been answered. I'd like to extend a huge thanks to every single one that has been there for me and I hope I've given back what I've received. I love you all from the bottom of my heart. I'd also like to thank Ellen over at Adecco for giving me the chance to work for them and I know she'll come through and help me with new assignements for the coming year. I'm a bit tired of my current job. Been there for almost 4 years and it has been very tedious and I've been doing the same thing over and over and over and over again. In the end, I had to say stop. I had nothing left to give and I just sat there staring at my tasks, giving up long before I begun and I knew I had to let my boss know I had to do something new. At the moment I'm working as a news paper delivery boy, working from 01:00 to 04:00 every morning, 6 days a week. My head is spinning with ideas all the bloody time and I've no idea of which ones to begin with and which ones to trash. Well... not entirely true. There are some ideas that are way too far fetched to be doable and others that are just vague ideas with no real content at all. So far so good and I'll update when I feel like it again. Nobody reads this anyway :-) What happened on this day around the world. Tuesday December 5, 2006Wow... It's been over a month since my last post. I must admit I haven't prioritized posting here. I've been working like mad lately and sleeping has been a major point for me. I can't get enough sleep these days. Right now, at quarter till nine in the morning on this day, I'm sitting at the office of Adecco. My co-worker and I have completed the job we were hired to do before the end of our contract and we have nothing else to do but to surf around, doing nothing and making money. It's a great feeling to know that I can do a good job and that the bosses are happy with me and my performance. I've worked hard to get to this point and it will only get easier to maintain status quo. Music Wolfmother. What a band. Their music is fresh and at the same time so old. Whenever I listen to the CD I have to smile. The grin on my face, the rocking and rolling I do in the car is fantastic. I feel light and one with everything. Everything else There isn't anything else. C ya! What happened on this day around the world. Wednesday November 1, 2006What happened on this day around the world. Sunday October 15, 2006It has been a while since my last post here and I really don't appologize for that. I've had other priorities. What I have done, today, is updated the software that runs this site to the very latest version and I did so without any hickups and I'm happy. I won't be saying much today as I've nothing to say, really. My love to you. What happened on this day around the world. Tuesday August 29, 2006I know I should've updated a long time ago but I've had other priorities. First off, I've set up my Mind & Spirit website. It's in norwegian and I hope it'll become a good resource for spiritual people on Norway. My whole family has been ill these past few days. Our son got the chickenpox and my wife and I got the flu. It's been hard, but we're getting closer to an end each passing minute So, that about sums it up for me. I've been reading a lot lately, everything from Budhism to Out of body experiences and the likes and I'm having a good time Other than that, nothing new. Technorati Tags: What happened on this day around the world. Sunday August 20, 2006My mother has her birthday today. I gotta remember to call her or she'll never forgive me I saw on Slashdot that Google has released the Office Word competitor called Writely. I've signed in and tried it for a few minutes and I think it looks promising. Don't know if I trust it to save my very personal private stuff, but for general things, it's really OK. As I said on Friday, I've been working a lot lately and with the fuel prices higher than ever, I've been thinking about getting myself a smaller car to use at work. I went to our local Toyota Dealer and had a look at the very small and practical car AYGO. It has a 3 cylinder engine, 1 liter and 68bhp. It would be the perfect car for me to use in my day to day business and I'd save a huge amount of money too Other stuff I had a strange error with my wireless router these past few days. It would work for about 5 minutes and then it'd cut off all access and I had to cut the power and restart the thing. Today is the first day for a long time that it is actually working as it should and I'm happy. Law of Attraction What a powerful way of thinking and I'm gonna apply it for every aspect of my life from now on. I know it needs a lot of practice and I'm looking forward to it unfolding and creating an interesting life for me. I watched the movie, The Secret, for the second time last night. It's really inspiring and it makes me think positive thoughts and perhaps put my focus where it really matters. Thanks for showing me that it's possible. A wish I'd like to make a wish to the readers of this site: I want to get into martial arts and I'm thinking about Jeet Kune Do and in that respect, I'd very much like to ask somebody to order the book, Tao of Jeet Kune Do, for me from Amazon. I'm totally broke atm or I'd get it myself... You can find my address in my CV. Thanks for helping. Technorati Tags: What happened on this day around the world. Friday August 18, 2006I've been working a lot since I came back from vacation my friends. A lot! I get up a 2 or 3 in the morning, get back home at around 5 or 6, sleep for a few hours and go to the office at around 10-10:30 before I head back out to work some more and I'm home around 18:00, tired, hungry and I miss my family a lot. I have to work because the bills don't stop coming in and I've got to have something to pay them with and in our society, it is hard cash (or some numbers in the bank). I've watched two movies these past few days about a lot of cool stuff. One is about Quantum Physics and it called What the BLEEP do we know - Down the rabbit hole and the other is called The Secret. The Secret is what got most of my attention as it deals with how we can achieve everything we want if we only set our minds to it and focus on what is important and not on what is negative. I.E. Lets say you're tired of not having enough money. The normal thing to do is to think "I don't want to be broke anymore". What happens here is that you're feeding the feeling of being broke and hence, you'll be broke. If you, instead, focus on having more money, visualize that you have more money, it will come to you. It will not come right away, but it will come. To learn more about this stuff, head over to The Secret Website and purchase the film. You will not regret it one moment. Here is what I'm doing at the moment: I've just finished watching The Secret and it made me realize that I had my focus where it didn't matter. You see, I really want this cool car, a Mitsubishi Evolution IX, and I had assembled a lot of info about it, pictures and such and had a picture as a Desktop background on my computers. Nice as it was, the car in the picture was red, a nice color, but I want a black car. I went around saying I really wanted the Evo IX, just not the red one. I want a black one. So now I've downloaded two pics of a black Evo and focus all my energy on that image, imagine myself driving a black Evo, hearing the roar of the engine, feeling the steeringwheel in my hands, feeling the seats against my back, the smell of a new car and me cruising on the highway. It's a wonderful feeling and it makes me want the car even more.
Technorati Tags: What happened on this day around the world. Wednesday August 9, 2006It's been a whole week since I last posted something here. Time flies, even though time is a matter og concious thinking and is man-made. I don't believe in time, but I've to live by the rules set by others because it has become the standard thinking these days. One notable person in history said something like "I curse the man that invented time" and I can't agree more. Time is a waste of the beauty of every day and it makes us focus on everything but the most important things in our lives: Us! I think more about time than I do on myself and my goals, my life, my family and so forth and it isn't fair. I'm looking forward to when I can relax and enjoy a day without the worry about time running too fast and the feeling that my life is too short. And talking about time See what I wrote about on this day last year. There are now 17017 spam mails on my Yahoo! Mail account. This is only for fun. I don't read the stuff :-) Technorati Tags: What happened on this day around the world. Wednesday August 2, 2006Wow, the Internet is such a fun place Check this out: It's updated every ten minutes and it'll show here. On the other hand... I've written one more letter and this time it's for the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mr Jawad al-Maliki and if you want to, you may read it right here. My son is getting bigger and older by the day and today is his 4th 1/2 "birthday" I've once again updated my server in regards to mail and this time it was by adding a filter to get rid of, or at least get every mail I get unsolicited marked with ***SPAM***. This makes it a lot easier for the mail-client to create a filter to move these messages to another folder for a review later on to see if there were any false positives. In regards to procrastination I found I'm not by far rid of it. I had set forth to making a few phonecalls because I want to begin to educate myself to get a Bachelor degree in Information Technology and I sat there... overwhelmed by all the information that was in front of me and I couldn't do jack shit about it. I had to have a long talk with my wife to gain perspective enough to at least get going and write an email to the university. Damn this is hard! You know, it's kind of hard to change what one has become to know as oneself. I know it won't be easy and I also know it'll take a while before I can do things in perfect harmony within and with my head held high. It's both an internal process as well as the fact og taking physical action and the mental part is what will take time to rectify. Technorati Tags: What happened on this day around the world. Tuesday August 1, 2006It's been one hell of a crazy two weeks folks. First off, we went to one of our national Zoo's about 300km south of Oslo, to a town called Kristiansand and had a blast while we were there. We came back home and stayed for about a day before we headed up to our cabin in the mountains and stayed there for 12 days. Ahh, what a wonderful, wonderful vacation... I had the time to read a few books while I was there. The first one is the second book in a series by the great author Peter F. Hamilton called Judas Unchained. I could hardly put it away Second off was a great book about professional CSS for webdevelopers and it is almost a must-have for those of you that do this for a living. Last thing I read, and I've read it twice so far, is a book by a woman named Lynn Lively and the book is called A Procrastinators Guide To Success. Every time I read it I get new ideas, thoughts and inspiration to do something about my life. You may have read about my problems, but if you haven't, please do and I hope you'll find inspiration to discover your life and how to live it to the max without being hurt too badly. The new server is up and running smoothly and I've just installed antivirus for the mailserver and I think it'll work out like a charm. I know it has the horsepower to run it and if things gets out of hand I have the option to upgrade to a more powerful CPU and add more memory. I originally bought 2GB of memory for the thing, but I was only able to use one. I've to get a decent pair of chips before it's all OK. Take a look at these two pictures I've taken with my Canon Digital Ixus 750: If you have anything to say about my pictures, please post your comments below. Thanks a million. Oh! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my good friend, Markus1 Technorati Tags: What happened on this day around the world. | This site proudly uses
