About Me
From kekePowers Information By-Way
I'm a 36 year old norwegian and I've been using computers since 1995. My first machine was a very nice and fast Compaq Pressario 742. 90Mhz 486 with a whopping 8 MB of RAM installed! I was actually able to overclock that beast to the amazing speed of 100MHz. This was possible due to the fact that the motherboard had two internal clocksettings. 30MHz and 33MHz. All this was timed by three and KabOOM! the clockspeed was either 90MHz or 100MHz. Ofcourse, I always used the max setting all the time :)
I am a webprogrammer and program in a language called PHP. I first got to know PHP back in late 1997 (I think) and found it to be really easy to use. Started my first project called MyNews and worked on it until releas 0.97, afterwhich an american fella took over and made it into what it is today. You can see an example of it over at SusperiaNews (a site I run for this really great band...).
As I've mentioned earlier, I've been working with and using computers since the mid 90's, have been into webpages/HTML since early 1996 and have evolved from then. I've been studying HTML, XHTML and CSS in my spare time and using it on various hobby websites that I've created. The combination of PHP, CSS and JavaScript is these called either Web 2.0 or AJAX. I haven't used JavaScript much, so I don't understand it that much. I know it can do great things and I've seen many good examples of it. See GMail from Google, the calendar from Kiko and so on.
I'm all into webpages following the webstandards from W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), but sadly most of the websites and webmasters only write for the infamous Microsoft Internet Explorer and it's beginning to show its age compared to newer software like Firefox and Opera.
If only webmasters/webdesigners would understand the concept of differing from content and design, the updating of the websites would go smoothly compared to what I've seen lately. A website written in pure, clean (X)HTML and CSS is so much easier to change than anything that is hardcoded and it doesn't penalize anything when it comes to performance or usability. Message to webmasters/webdesigners: Think about how you write your websoftware. Consider using HTML and CSS and you'll see how easy it really is.
For nice to know, and read, sites, please see my list of useful sites.
I also do sing a little and you can listen to my music if you want to... If you're into helping out, you can also purchase my songs over at Mindawn :-)
Here is my cv (in norwegian)
