Hey there,

I guess I'm not alone in wondering it we're alone in this vast universe. Somebody once said, in a certain movie this: "If we're alone in this universe, it's an aweful waste of space" and can nothing but totally agree with that.

There has been numerous reports of sightings and sometimes first hand contact, but I can only ask myself "Why doesn't it happen to me?". I'd really, really, really like to know. I look up at the stars every night and really wonder... I can see Mars in all its glory, flashing red and yellow and I can see that it's teasing me with just being there.

Last night as I was walking the dog I saw this beautiful, blueish star shining. All I could think was "Who are you?"
Weird!

There is this thing I've been thinking about lately. It may be a little Matrix'ish, but I don't really care.
What if what we see when we look up is only a shroud made by some superiour power to conceal the truth from us. Everything we see is what they want us to see. What about the galaxies far, far away we see on pictures from NASA and other places?. Well, I've given this some thought. It could be some kind of mandelbrot/fractal designed to fool us. We've really no idea what it should look like.

The next question is When will the shroud fail and will we notice it?
For this I've no answer. *sigh*
